GastroPan 2026 – three days of innovation, competition and inspiration for the food industry

Between March 19–21, 2026, the 17th edition of the GastroPan international exhibition took place, a landmark event for the bakery, pastry, confectionery, gelato, chocolate, milling and HoReCa industries in Romania. Over the course of three days, the exhibition brought together professionals, producers, suppliers and talented young people, strengthening its role as an essential platform for experience exchange, networking and professional development.

The event opened on March 19 with an official ceremony attended by representatives of professional associations, trainers and industry specialists. They highlighted the importance of GastroPan as a meeting point for the professional community. The exhibition director, Boróka Jakab, emphasized the event’s stability and continuity: “One of the greatest advantages of our exhibition is its stability. It is the place where our community comes to life.”

From the very first day, visitors discovered numerous novelties and innovations: automatic dessert-cutting robots, new gelato flavours and premium raw materials, all designed to support the development of businesses in the field.

The first day also featured the “Bread of the Year 2026 – artisanal and industrial” competition, where outstanding products were awarded for quality, taste and innovation. The winners were Moara Maria Bakery in the artisanal category with a bread made from white flour, whole wheat flour and basil, and Harmopan Bakery in the industrial category with a 2 kg traditional potato bread.

On the second day, the exhibition continued with new demonstrations and opportunities for professionals. The highlight was the “Gelato of the Year 2026” competition, where gelato makers impressed with innovative flavour combinations and spectacular presentations. The winning product was a passion fruit, ginger and lemon ice cream created by Oana Vaschi (Parlou du Gelato Nessa).

The event was further energized by the participation of students from specialized schools and universities, who presented gastronomic dishes as well as bakery and confectionery products, showcasing the talent of the new generation.

In addition to competitions, visitors explored modern business solutions: self-service gelato equipment, automated ovens and digital printers, all adapted to current industry demands.
The third day was dedicated to live gastronomy demonstrations, where master chefs and specialists offered interactive and inspiring moments. Visitors had the opportunity to observe modern techniques, discover new culinary approaches and interact directly with renowned professionals.

GastroPan 2026 once again confirmed that it is more than an exhibition – it is a complete experience that brings together the food industry community.
